白剛玉是以鋁氧化粉為原料，經(jīng)電熔提煉結(jié)晶而成， 純度高、自銳性好、耐酸堿腐蝕、耐高溫、熱態(tài)性能穩(wěn)定它硬度略高于棕剛玉，韌性稍低，純度高、自銳性好、磨削能力強、發(fā)熱量小、效率高、耐酸堿腐蝕、耐高溫熱穩(wěn)定性好。用其制成磨具，適用于磨削高碳鋼、高速鋼及不銹鋼等細粒度磨料還可以用于鑄造和耐火材料。
White fused alumina was made from the high quality alumina by melting above 2000 in the electric arc furnace and cooling. It is white with the main crystal phase alpha-Al2O3.The white alumina produced in titling electric arc furnace has the advantage of high bulk density and low porosity and the volume stability and thermal shock resistance can be improved.
